6 years!

Speenwalter and I celebrated our anniversary this past weekend. I would definitely say that we are go getters... the day included the following:

- waking up, getting ready and working out (speen only for the work out!)
- I went to a surprise shower while Spence and Lance went grocery shopping
- Taking Lance to the zoo
- Doing all the yard work while Lance took a nap
- exchanging gifts
- dropping Lance off at my mom's for a sleepover
- 4:28 tee time - walking 9 holes
- 7:00 sealings at the Temple
- Dinner on the patio at Market Street
- 9:50 movie!

Needless to say, we were EXHAUSTED by the time we got home. But, it was really, really fun to have a fun day together and a night out on the town!

Being married to Spence these last 6 years have been a lot of fun! We spoke in church the other week and I will relay part of the introduction I gave about Spence and I that sums up some of the things we have been up to in the past 6 years. (obviously for humor some of things were slightly exaggerated! ;) )

- 9 wards = 9 different homes (owned 2 homes, 1 of which was one of the worst financial disasters of our marriage to date!)
- 4 different states (Utah, California, Arizona, Washington)

So throughout these 9 homes and 4 states:

I have taken 864,432 pictures

Spencer has eaten 22,641 bowls of cereal

16,798 is the number of times we have said to our selves “how did we luck out with the world’s best child!”

Spencer’s sang 14,622 songs whether it be in his band or at church or to family and friends

I have held the record for water skiing around the lake 2,763 times w/out letting go ALL while wearing a shower cap on my head so that my hair would not get wet!

Spencer has played 344 rounds of golf

We have visited 26 countries

Hiked 18 mountains

Between the two of us we have had 10 jobs – ranging from selling fruit to hippies down at Pioneer Park to selling 100’s of acres of “fruit-filled” land to large home builders in Central California.

We have had 7 cars

Married for 6 years

Had 3 degrees between the two of us – most recent being Spencer’s MBA from Thunderbird in Decembers

11/2 children – a little boy Lance who turns 2 next month and a little girl due in October.

Yeah that was the cheesey intro I did for our ward, but I thought I would post it on the blog, because it does sum up a bunch of things we have done the past 6 years. We are kinda crazy, but we like it that way!

Love ya Speenie, Happy Anniversary!

I am experiencing De Javu!

According to google...

Average monthly temperature for June in the state of Washington, City of Tacoma: 59.5 degrees
Average monthly temperature for June in the state of Utah, City of Salt Lake: 82 degrees

DE JAVU: I swear it is June 2008. We are living in Tacoma, WA and freezing our booties off every day and running our heat at full blast. Spence is coming home from running in the mornings drenched from head to toe after running 5 miles in 50 degree weather. We are wearing long pants, and hooded sweat shirts every day. Lance doesn't leave the house with out his rain jacket and beanie on...

Beautiful, but BUUUURRRRR!!!!

Yes, this is what we looked like on our evening walks mid-june!

1st family picture we took when we got to tacoma last summer. It was a long, cold June. Luckily July, August, and September more than make up for the june coldness.

Oh wait, I am back to reality, and I am actually in Utah, where is feels like cold Tacoma. The only difference is the average in Tacoma is 59 degrees in June, so it can be expected. The average in Utah is 82 freaking degrees... TEAR, TEAR, TEAR!!! I swear this has been the year of never ending winter and freezingness (especially after having moved here in December from AZ's enjoyable 80 degree winter). And my bitterness even increased once I looked up the 10 day forecast, and yes, what does it show - scattered thunderstorms for the next 10 days! BOO...

"oh mr sun, sun, mr golden sun, PLEASE shine down on me!"

So after complaining to the Hubs yesterday, he oh so kindly reminded me about the talk I am giving in church this coming Sunday which partly focuses on attitude! Oh wait, maybe I should practice what I preach. So in that spirit, I will leave you with a positive comment. I am sure this rain will be wonderful for my garden! ;)

Advertising has its perks!!!

Spence gets to be in a movie with her today:

He called me at lunch today to tell me that they chose two people from his work to be extras in the movie they are filming. When I asked him how they chose who would be in the movie, he said, "well, they went through and chose the two most attractive guys at the office, and so naturally I was chosen!" Duh, why did I even ask! So, today Spence will make his film debut.

Ok, honestly... they are filming a portion of the movie at his work and he and the other dude's desk happen to be right next to the spot they are filming, so that is why they were chosen as extras. HOWEVER, if it was based on looks, I am sure he would have been chosen regardless! ;) Love ya babe!

One more post about him... and I promise I'll stop!!!

For the FEW Adam Lambert fans that read my blog, I had to share a hilarious Newsweek article I just saw on the internet about him.

First question I will ask:

What does Adam Lambert and a Cougar have in common?

According to the article, a Cougar refers to busy, professional women, some with demanding families and children, all with demanding jobs who are over the age of 40 (if not more).

The Cougars apparently are HOT for Adam Lambert, gay or not!

Here are a few excerpts from the article, I found entertaining...

In terms of biology, Adam Lambert's attractiveness is kind of bizarre. Some research shows that women like square jaws and deep brows—iconic masculine traits—when they're looking for a fling. But we like more feminine traits when we're looking for The One, the long-term mate. Lambert has a little bit of both going on for him, as anyone who saw his version of Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love" can attest.

When we aren't laughing at our patheticness (because, let's get real, even if Lambert were straight or gave in to some bi-curiosity, he would never be interested in us), we are actually ruminative enough to wonder what it is about this fellow that turned us into such loons. One thing we know for sure is that we are not alone. There are thousands of women of a certain age out there who are just one Adam Lambert Google search away from crashing their computers.

The good news is that people who know about these things think that our little Lambert love-fest is downright mentally healthy. "I think more women would be happier if they channeled their inner 14-year-old girls once in a while," says sex therapist Laura Berman, director of the Berman Center in Chicago. She's always been fascinated with the Clay Aiken phenomenon, that of girls going crazy for a seemingly sweet, innocent-looking boy-man (Aiken is now, like Lambert, out and proud).

While Aiken may be the ultimate "safe zone," Lambert, she believes, somehow managed to be "hardcore, crazy, humble, adorable, charismatic, sweet and mind-blowingly talented," all in one package. "He's a study in contrasts, and the gay thing doesn't matter," she says. "Anyone who can get women to talk, giggle and get their mojo back is fine by me. Enjoy the ride."

Part of the Lambert allure is that some women find his onstage lack of inhibition a powerful aphrodisiac. (What? Did they really just say that!?!) According to psychoanalyst Dr. Gail Saltz, we all have a little touch of the voyeur inside of us, but it's often repressed. Then along comes Lambert, and those voyeuristic floodgates open. "Here's a guy who is a maximum exhibitionist, molten hot, can sing anything and is screaming, 'Look at me,' and for some women, that's an incredible turn-on," says Saltz, author of The Ripple Effect: How Better Sex Can Lead to a Better Life.

Love him or hate him, he has sure made many headlines this year! I thought that someone else might find this article amusing to some degree. If you want to read the whole thing, you can find it at:
