Wednesday Hikes 1 - Outlook trail up Millcreek Canyon

So we started a new tradition this summer called "Wednesday Hikes!"  I wanted to get out and explore the mountains more and expose my kids to the beauty this state possesses.  We tried to go on as many Wednesday hikes as possible.  It ended up being a super fun tradition and the kids actually good pretty great at hiking!

The first hike we went on this year was The Outlook Hike up Millcreek Canyon.

Taking a breather on the log!

The gang!  First week it was us and the Walkers!

We realized between the two of us we had kids aged: 0,1,2,3,4,5&6!

Sometimes kids just need a little lift!

Little Beauty!

Beautiful Forest!

Cutest girls!  They did a great job on their first hike!

Midnight planting!

For my birthday from Spencer's parents, I asked his mom to help me landscape my front yard a little bit.   So, Jane agreed to help me spruce it up.  She has a busy schedule but was able to find some time on Friday afternoon.

Aunt Abi came over and helped watch the kids while we got to work.  Seriously - Aunt Abi is THE BEST!  She will make the best momma this September when Aspen makes her debut!

Nana even came over and hung out while we were working!  Presley & Nana taking a seat!

In the middle of our planting rendevous, there was a rain storm that was followed by a beautiful rainbow!

We even got visited by these two darlings in my neighborhood who helped watch the girls and brought them beautiful headbands!

Because we got a bit of a late start and because there was no time to finish at a later date, Jane & Spence kept digging in the dark!

We turned my car lights onto the grass for a little bit of working light.  That was all hunky dory until my car battery died!  At least we had Jane's car to give me a jump!

The final product!  You may not be able to notice a difference but we added a couple trees, 7 shrubs, a couple pots out front and defined the grass line.  Thanks Jane for a wonderful birthday present!

Presley, my little Sleeping Beauty!

If you know me, you know I LOVE my sleep!  And I was definitely spoiled with a good sleeper when it came to my little P!

She was even sleeping 10 hours at 2 months.  I think because she was such a good sleeper, it made the transition to 3, that much easier.  When I switched her over to one nap, she started taking a 3-4 hour afternoon nap.  It has been absolutely amazing.  I'm so lucky.

She loves her naps so much that quite often she would fall asleep sitting up and flop over!

Here are some of the funny sleeping pics of my Sleeping Beauty!

How can this be comfortable!?

This gave me a bit of anxiety!

I think she may want a sleep mask!  Lol!

I always wanted a video monitor and finally splurged for my 3rd!  It was fun being able to peek at this little one while she was sleeping or playing in her bed!

Thanks for being such a great sleeper little Peanut! You definitely made the transition to 3 quite easy! Love you!

Preschool!!!

Lance & Tallie both had incredible years of preschool.

Lance attended Canyon Rim Academy Preschool and it was amazing.  Miss Amy & Miss Alyson were so creative and made learning so much fun!

Lance on Cowboy Day!

Lance on Race Day!  They gave each kid their own 'car key' (which was an actual key), drivers license with their picture on it, and a ticket that was paid off with a hug to the teacher.  Seriously, it was too cute!

The last week of school Lance's class met up at Bob's Brain Freeze for a snow cone!

Lance's class!

His self portrait!

Here is Lance in his final performance.  They invited the parents and they sang songs and each child had a little part they had to memorize and perform.

Lance and his darling classmates!

Lance had a blast singing the songs!

Lance & Riley working with some props during the fish song!

Lance did a great job with his part!

JoJo & CC came to the performance!

We were so proud of the amazing year Lance had here!

Miss Amy & Miss Alyson!  The best teachers around!

Tallie also had a blast at her preschool - Guided Exploration.  One of my friends in my ward happened to own the preschool and was her teacher!  I had Tallie signed up for this school before she even moved into the neighborhood.  We lucked out with this as well. Miss Shannon is incredible!

Here is their floor time.  They were playing some musical instruments while singing their songs!

Tallie's favorite part of preschool was playing in the sandbox!

Sugar cookie making time!

Miss Shannon constantly changed the color of the sand in the sandbox to keep it fun!

Every month I had to co op in the classroom.  It was nice to be able to see how Tallie did and to see how she interacted with the other kids.  We were able to bring siblings with us when we worked in the class room.  Here is Presley getting ready for snack time!

Another learning activity!

Thanks for a great year Miss Shannon!

Backyard BBQ with Besties!

My friend Lindsay moved into a new beautiful home and had us over for a fun BBQ!

I love all these kids!  Soooooo happy Jess is pregnant with a little boy so Lance isn't the only one!

Haven & Presley playing on the swing set!

Making sno cones!  As you can tell, the kids had a blast!

I love these girls, and am so grateful for their friendship and that we are still close after all these years!

Lance vs the girls!

Our darling hubbies!  All of us girls lucked out with great guys - who all get along as well!

Cute kiddos!

Love you beautiful ladies - thanks for a great night!
