Our friend Pam (who went to school with Spence) came into town for a week. We had so much fun doing all kind of things. Last weekend we took her to Bryce and Zion National Park. You saw the pictures from Bryce, and next up came Zion. We met up with Tom (who also went to school with them) and his new wife Carly (of one month) to hike Angels Landing in Zion.
It was a gorgeous day for hiking.
OK - so Angel's Landing, huh? Props to the people who have hiked it, because it was super scary. The first part was awesome, and then the last .25 mile is hiking with chains. If you look at that mountain behind me that is the ridge you hike up holding chains. When Spence showed me that, I thought he was lying. It was really dangerous. I mean, if you slipped and fell, you fall 4,000 feet on either side. It was pretty narly, and I was dang proud of myself for doing it.
This gives you an idea of how you have sheer cliffs on both sides the whole way up that ridge.
View from the top baby!
Tom and Carly are living in St. George right now, so we were able to spend the weekend at their place. Saturday night we went up snow canyon and had a big campfire and roasted mellows and had campfire dinners.
Big fan of the campfire dinners!
We had a great weekend! Thanks to our families for watching the goose!
