Good or Bad hair day - you be the judge!?!

All of these pictures were taken over the past couple of days. Now that Spencer's hair is so long, he has had a bit of fun trying out some new do's! I do have to admit that although these styles are fun, I am definitely a sucker for his adorable curls - and I do hope Lance get his daddie's curls!

Little Lance the Ladies Man

It's true - my baby is already taking after his daddy as a ladies man! Here is Lance with his cute new friend, Elise Nicole Mitchell. She was born three weeks ago, isn't she a cutie?! As you can see, Lance did not waste anytime putting his arm around her!

When you go to Thunderbird...

... you don't need to be in GERMANY to celebrate Oktoberfest! That is the beauty about going to an international business school. You are surrounded by so many different cultures and customs.

Friday night we went to Oktoberfest that was put on by the German club. We ate bratwursts and pretzels, played German games, sang songs in German, and really watched several drunk students linking arms swaying back in forth with their beer mugs in their hands singing out German songs. It was hilarious! Literally - Spence and I thought we were back in Germany with our Australian Buddies. It was great.

My favorite part of the night was the open mic. Spence got up and rocked the house to a little "Joy to the World" by Three Dog Night.

ENJOY!

What a FABULOUS week!

We had one incredible past week! My parents came down to visit Lance! My mom, JoJo, came in last Sunday for 8 days. She was so much fun!!! She LOVES Lance and is sooooo adorable with him. She plays with Lance all day long. Lance's favorite was when she would sing to him. She is the nursery leader of her ward, so she is a champ when it comes to kid songs and actions. Lance's eyes would never leave her. She was also so sweet to Spence and I - spoiling us with amazing food, groceries, gas, clothes, and time. She would tend Lance and encouraged Spence and I to do whatever we wanted - we were able to try out a lot of fun workout classes at our gym and go to a Thunderbird fundraising party. Thanks mom - you are the best!

On Friday night we went to the Thunderbird NAWMB party (Women's association fundraiser). Here is the gang, we have met a ton of awesome people down here! I am kinda like the student third wheel, since a lot of Speen's closest friends are single, but I still have a blast!

Here is a pic of Spence and I with some of our loot! They had tons of fun games to play at this party. Spence was one of the only people to win at this tic tac toe bottle game - he ended up cleaning them out of prizes, he won 5 Thunderbird t-shirts, 3 notebooks, some pens, treats, and a few Thunderbird bags. My parents went home with a plethora of Thunderbird gifts! I even won a bag playing the coke/pepsi/rc cola challenge... and I don't even drink pop!

On Saturday morning my dad came into town for a couple of days. He is also ADORABLE with Lance. (*Note the shorts Lance is wearing in this picture are mini NIKE workout shorts - how adorable is that!?!)

Doesn't Lance have some CUTE grandparents! He loves Poppy and JoJo. He is also excited that Mimi and Papa will be down to see him for Thanksgiving.

Saturday night we went to the PHOENIX FAIR!!! The funnest part was that Lance stayed awake 85% of the time! From this picture you can tell that he had a blast. What a trooper!

We showed him the animals. He and Poppy especially loved the Budweiser Clydesdale Horses. They were enormous and beautiful too!

Lance especially liked cuddling up to Poppy!

Another nice thing about living in AZ (I just keep loving it more and more and more) - is that we have a hiking park just down the street from our house. We were planning to take Lance on a hike yesterday, but when we got there the wind was blowing pretty hard and so Spence took him home and I just went on the hike with my parents.

Here is a pic of the hiking divas!

Thanks mom and dad for coming. We had an absolute blast with you guys and can't wait to see you at Christmas!

Loa & Leo

The past couple of months have been CRAZY for Spence and I... A baby, a move, a return to school, selling the house, having it fall out of escrow, and the death of my grandma and Spencer's grandpa. Yeah - we have gone through a range of emotions. It was hard to lose Nana Jones and Grandpa Driggs. They were both INCREDIBLE people. However, we are so grateful to have the gospel in our lives because with loss there is also life. We are so grateful that our Savior has made it possible for us to see our loved ones again who have passed on to the next life. I wanted to do a tribute to two incredible people who have touched our lives in sooooooo many ways...

To: Leo
& Loa

My Nana, Loa Jones, was one of the most amazing individuals I have ever known. I had the privilege of speaking at her funeral, and spoke about the following motto. When I think of my Nana, I think of the motto "work hard, pray hard, and play hard!" She was one of the most service oriented people in the whole world. She always gave of herself for others. She was such a good example to me of how to give of myself and how to better the world for others. She loved the power of prayer and from a young age, instilled in me such a love of communication with our Father in Heaven. She also LOVED to play hard. She was so much fun to be around. Last summer (2006) Spence and I moved out of our apartment and went off to Europe for 6 weeks. My parents thought we were insane to spend that kind of money and not to work, etc, but not Nana, she was all for it... I mean, how could she not be, she passed her travel bug off to me! She understood that a big part of life was creating memories and having fun. She was our biggest ally. I will miss her so much, but am so happy that she has been reunited with my Papa! I am also so grateful that she was able to meet Lance. As she kind of became less coherent at the end, one thing that was always front and center in her mind was Lance - always asking how he was. I wonder if it was because they both were so close to the veil? I love you Nans!

LEONARD

Spencer's grandpa - Leonard Driggs - was also one amazing individual! He had the most beautiful crystal clear blue eyes. Just by looking at him, you could tell he was just exploding of charity and unselfishness! Spence and I are extremely close to his grandparents. Ever since I started dating Spence, we would go over and hang out with them all the time. Ask Lindsay - even living in her basement, instead of hanging out with friends our age, we would want to go over and hang out with Helen & Leonard - play cards until 2 am, Survivor nights every Thursday, and just chatting and being with them - they are such a riot to be with! Leonard was such a kind and gentle man. He was completely unjudgemental, very generous, and always made everyone feel like they were his favorite! We will definitely miss you as well Grandpa Driggs. We love you tons!

Geneology... I am doing it!

While my parents were in town this past week, we decided to learn some more about our ancestors. My Nana had always said that her great grandfather, Charlie Crismon, had come across the plains with Brigham Young, and had then been asked by him to come and settle Mesa, AZ. My Nana had always told us that there was a monument of him in Mesa. We went and saw it yesterday, and it was fantastic! Across the street from the Mesa, AZ temple, there is a bronze life size monument of my great, great, great grandfather Charlie Crismon! How awesome is that. Ironically, the whole sacrament meeting in church yesterday was all about doing family history work!

Here is a picture of the man himself - Charlie! My mom thought he looked very handsome! ;)

Here is a picture of the family standing in front of the statue!

Here is a picture of our little fam at the Mesa, AZ temple. What a beautiful temple, it reminded me a little bit of the Hawaii temple.

A Deal Worth Mentioning!!!

My mom is in town visiting this week, and we have definitely put the motto "Shop Till You Drop" into action!

...Ta Da.... I bought 6 pair of shoes this week. Now the fun part - I paid a grand total of $48! Three of the pairs were from Baker's Outlet $5/each! The other three pairs were from Last Chance, which is Nordstrom's hand me downs more or less. It goes Nordstroms, Nordstroms Rack, and then Last Chance. My mom was in the store for about a grand total of 5 minutes, cause it kind of grossed her out, but I was in there for over an hour "treasure hunting!" I loved it. If you don't mind sorting through a lot of junk, you can find some great buys. My hunting paid off as I came out with a darling pair of purple flats, some Steve Madden Flats, and the black ones with white boys - yeah, I saw them at Nordstrom's yesterday (no joke) for $72, and I got them for $12!

I sure do LOVE bargains!

Announcing...

Baby Lance! My friend Becca Bishop and I made this announcement one day - well, basically she did the whole thing! She is super talented with digital scrapbooking - thanks Bex!
