Snow storm weekend part 1

days after that beautiful glorious warm Fall weather, a major storm rolled in and dumped a ton of snow.  Saturday, we had our friends come down and the dads built a sled hill that the kids could slide down, surf down, etc.  It made for a lot of Saturday fun!

Tootles enjoying the snow!

Owen & Tallie taking a ride on the sled!

Lance trying a little surf on the sled!

Lance & Ella's turn!

Making snow angels!

Perhaps Lance is more of a sun and warm loving person like his momma?

Spence in the snow... like a kid in a candy shop!  That's what you get when you grow up in Park City, I guess!

I had to grab a photo of all the snow clothes draped on the railing!

Up next... movie time!

Found these two little trouble makers jumping in Presley's bed!

I will have to say that for the first major storm of the Utah, I give it an A+!

More delightful November weather!

To help get over my Romney blues :) we had our friends over to play in the leaves and have some fun in the backyard!  Again, I am so happy we had such a beautiful pleasant November - or start to November at least...

Playing in the leaves!

Dumping leaves on our friends head!

Filling the tramp with leaves and jumping on it!

Diving into the leaves!

Building a huge pile and sliding into the leaves!

And finally, having fun and enjoying the fresh sunshine on my face, playing outside barefoot in the leaves!

Romney/Ryan 2012!

Well, what can I say I got pretty into politics this last go round!  And I still believe with all my heart that Mitt Romney would have been one incredible President!

I am lovin' Presley's face in this picture.  It is like she is saying "duh, of course you should vote for Mitt if you care at all about my future!"

I will admit, I did shed a few tears when Mitt lost.  I didn't watch his concession speech, or Obama's acceptance speech, and I haven't watched any politics since election day.  It is still pretty tender for me. Ridiculous - maybe?  I am just passionate about my beliefs and I am sad cause I truly believe the country would be a better place had Romney had a chance to lead us.

CR2 2nd annual GNO sleepover!

We had our second annual girls ward sleepover up at the Pugsley's cabin in Woodsville.  This year, we had two cute little jammers join us!

Wyatt 1 month (my friend Leslie's baby) & Presley, 8 months
It is amazing how fast babies grow their first year, isn't it!?

Oh the witches fingers!  My mom gets day old Great Harvest bread once a month that she gives out to people in her neighborhood and ward.  The day we were headed up to the cabin my mom got an entire box of Great Harvest witch fingers left over from Halloween.  I thought, how cute, I"ll bring them up to Alyson's cabin and give everyone a bag!

Oh boy, I take them up there and the smell made Alyson and several others sick and they were kind of hard and stale and so they totally became the joke of the whole trip!  Tammy hid them in everyone's bags so when we were getting ready for bed that night we found them hidden in our bags.  The  night we got home from the cabin, Amy & I went around and put them on everyone's front porches, under their mats, in their milk boxes, etc.  Then the best, fast forward 2 months later, Kels gives me a Christmas present and inside are three witches fingers she had saved with a note that said "I witch you a  Merry Christmas!"  Oh such funny memories with the witch fingers!

Being funny and trying on all the cowboy hats the Pugsley's have at their cabin!

This years crew!  Love all you cute ladies!  xo

Can this really be November 1?

Beautiful, barefoot Fall weather and in November no less!  L-O-V-E!

October Random!

In October we cleaned out the garden and restocked it with manure for the next year!  Good ole Speen doing the dirty work!

Here is some of the loot; tomatillos, green peppers, tomatoes and a whole lotta carrots!  I actually ended up boiling the carrots and blending them up into baby food!

 "What's up Doc!??"

Lance got out his tonsils mid-October.  I had thought he needed them out for about a year.  A year ago he started snoring very loudly - so loud we could hear him down the hall.  So, I decided I would get them out after the New Year when my deductible started over cause I knew I would meet it since I was having a baby.  Well, here comes January and magically he stops snoring!  When I took him to the doctor in July he told me his tonsils were very large and that I should take him to see an ENT.  I went to the ENT 2x, but since Lance still wasn't snoring much and I didn't notice any sleep apnea, the ENT said it was my decision. I was undecided on whether or not we should get them out.  The ENT said they would need to come out eventually but he needed me to feel comfortable with it.  I was just kind of nervous.

Fast forward a couple months - there is a lady in my ward who works for my ENT.  We were sitting on the couch together during church (the Sunday before Fall break) when I randomly turned to Tammy and said "can you get Lance in on Wednesday to get his tonsils out?'  This was 4 days before.  I just realized if he got it over Fall break he would miss less school.  Well, she worked her magic and Wednesday out came the tonsils - - - and while the doc was in there, out came the adenoids too!  Lance did great.  It is tough surgery and it is sad to see your child in pain, but he was back to normal in about 10 days.  It was funny cause they said Lance would probably want to sleep a lot,  especially the day he got his tonsil out - leftover anesthesia - and he didn't nap for one second, nor did he nap for 3 days after that!  I let him play/watch electronics all day and I think he was too excited about that he didn't have time for sleep!  My little mr. electronic man!

Anyway - I have to say getting out Lance's tonsils was one of the best decisions we have made. He has turned a 180 since getting his tonsils out.  He is so much happier, a lot more crazy and wild and energetic (how boys should be!), sleeps better and eats a lot more!  I wonder if perhaps his tonsils were so big that they were causing him not to sleep well hence impeding other areas of his life.  So glad we got them out!

I was also able to take family pictures for a cousin in October up at this really cool property in Midway.  Had her snap a quick pic of me and my babe!

Happy Halloween!!

We had a great Halloween!  Again, the weather was AMAZING, so it made the night really fun!

I had to start out with a group shot of my cute kiddies, and again - I loved my porch with the freshly
carved pumpkin from last night's Halloween party!

Next we headed over to my parents to show them the kids in their Halloween costumes!

Tallie, the little stinker!

Lance was Lightning McQueen for Halloween!  And a cute one if I don't mind saying so myself!

Next we ventured over to Speen's parents house.  I thought this candid photo of Paul and Emily with the little p was so tender!

Mimi & Tootles

Aunt Abi looking pretty freaky as a crazy lady!

Then after making my kids take a million pics, it was trick or treating time!  Yes, we started early - heck, we had people to see, places to go.... One lady was so rude, she was sitting on her porch and Tallie and Lance went up and tricker or treated and she yelled at them and said they could only come back when her light was on.  She also mentioned she was a teacher and hadn't had time to set up her candy bowl, we were too early.  Too bad I didn't ask her where she taught school, so I could make sure my kids didn't ever get her in the future!

Meeting up with some friends!

A quick visit to Grandma Thorne's to show her the kids outfits!  Plus my uncle lives a few doors up and was handing out king size stuff which was fun for them to get as well.

Back to my parents to trick or treat a few more houses and to get one of my favorite things about Halloween - a chocolate donut!  I love that several of my parents neighbors save toys for some of the kids they know well.  Lance had a blast with these glasses and glow bands!

Hanging out with more buddies.  How cute are these siblings dressed up as Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach!  I love how my friend Sarah always coordinates her kids costumes!

And finally, this was quite the story of the night.  We get all the kids loaded into the car and I can't find the keys anywhere for the life of me.  We search everywhere.  I search every inch of my car, my dad has out the lantern and we are back tracking the neighbors houses we went to.  Literally 45 minutes of four of us searching for my keys.  Finally I pull out Tallie's car seat and find my keys - however they were't my keys from earlier, it was my spare that I had no idea was hidden underneath Tallie's seat.  Such a miracle we found those.  Anyway, so I still don't know where my original keys are.  I get home, take off my cheerleading outfit, and what do I see in my undershirt.... Are you kidding me?  MY KEYS!!!!!  Wow, am I a blonde or what!??

Other than that little hiccup, Halloween 2012 was a success!
