Golden Birthday!

Well, this guy turned 29 on the 29th! Unfortunately, I don't have a post full of all the fun things we did, since Lance was sick with the flu. I had a party all planned, but we had to cancel it. Bummer. Basically we sat around and waited for Lance to pee, which luckily after about 9 1/2 hours he did. But trust me that was the best present he could have given his daddy yesterday!

So, in order to document this special golden birthday, I made Speen take a picture.

Happy Birthday to one incredibly loving, patient, kind, happy, spiritual, and fun father and hubby! We love you babe.

Where did the time go?

Myself and three of my good friends all had babies within the same year. From left to right: Lance (1 month), Kameron (3 months), Ella (11 months) and Finley (9 months).

Ella, Lance, Taylin, Kameron, and Finley (Lance 5 months)

I can't believe how fast the time flies! What darling bunch of cuties. I think that Lance has changed the most from his baby pictures out of all of the kiddos. What do you think?

The big birthday post!

We celebrated the Goose's birthday with a family and a few friend birthday party. He had a blast. Here are a few (but really a million) pictures from the big day.

We went to a ward party at our neighbors house, and Lance went nuts over this house. Lucky for us they really wanted to get rid of it. He calls it "Lance's House!" He could play in it all day.

Of course Spence had to give him his first set of golf clubs! He was a lot more interested in all of the balls!

Here is a picture of the party. It was such a nice evening, and the company was amazing. I also thought the balloons hanging in our weeping willow tree were so cute!

Papa and Jojo!

Some of the fam. I love that my friend Bekah is in the background managing all the little kiddos. They loved to take Lance's golf clubs and swing at the balloons!

More family and friends

Lance is obsessed with "Rosies." (ring around the rosies), so of course all the kids played. The two girls in the matching pink headbands are two of my little cousins I nanny every day. They are amazing to Lance and were really so cute to him and all the kids at the party.

All the kiddos

Lance opening some presents. (Thank you everyone, he was so spoiled!)

Family picture with the cake I decorated (well 75% of it, some of the hard parts my mom did!) You can't really tell, but it is Big Bird. I thought it turned out pretty darn cute for my first try.

Cute Charlie and Michelle

My parents spoiled Lance with this jeep. I love this action shot of Lance and Ella!

Lance with his great grandmas

My cute parents with the gift of the night. Lance was getting pretty tired and then we brought out the jeep and he went nuts. He was screaming and stomping his feet. A very cute reaction. Now, we just have to teach him how to push the gas and get it to move.

Lance waving goodbye to everyone. Thanks to everyone for their comments, phone calls, happy birthday song renditions and all the love you showed to Lance. He had such a fun day and me as the mom, I thought it was a perfect 10. Such a great day!

Now is my time to brag about my boy! I would have to say Lance's favorite things are BOOKS!
I seriously think that is why he is so darn smart. He could read books all day. Every night we let him pick out one book to read before he goes to bed and every night he says over and over again "more books, more books!"

Lance refers to other kids as "guys!" He always wants to "play with the guys." The best way to describe his demeanor is kind hearted and sweet. He is honestly the sweetest little guy in the world. He is not a bully, he doesn't get mad if someone steals his toys, he is just a love. He tends to get a little beat up in nursery at times, but instead of getting mad and punching back he is such a peace maker.

One of the things that we are most impressed about Lance at this age is that he knows every alphabet letter. And I don't mean, just singing the song. I can show him any letter of the alphabet (I would say probably either upper or lower case) and he knows what they are in any order, plus he probably knows the sounds about 10 of the letters make. He just blows us away. He also knows his numbers 1-10. He has done such a great job with all of his verbal skills. We are so proud of our goose!

Ok well that is my never-ending birthday and brag post about my little man. We sure love our Lance!

Lately...

I have been nannying four days a week and have had no time to blog, so I will now try to catch up for the last month or so.

Back in the days of the never ending rain, we tried to have fun inside by building forts in our basement.

We were thrilled when Parker (Lance's best buddy in AZ) came into town and we got to play with him one morning. Luckily they just moved to St. George, so I am sure we will get to see them much more often.

Tons of swimming. Lance does such a good job with his little floaties.

Annual cousin campout. There are a bunch of little girl cousins and they are so sweet to Lance!

(I am loving Lance's hair btw. I am so happy I didn't cut it. I love the cute wings. You would think once I found out I was having a girl I would have been more likely to cut Lance's hair, since she can have the long hair, but no!)

I hit the 6 month mark and I am feeling really good. Just hoping I don't start to swell up!

We had a super fun 4th of July party at Spencer's aunt and uncles who live on the Thanksgiving Point golf course, so of course, we took some impromptu family pic's!

And of course watching the fireworks. Lance loved the "boom-booms!"

And of course, the sparklers!

We have also tried to take advantage of our pass up Millcreek Canyon. Last week we had a campfire and BBQ with the Reams.

Man we love the summer. Spence got sick of his long curls (tear!) and buzzed his head, so as soon as I take a picture of him I'll have to upload it. Well that's about the last month in a nutshell.

This is the place!

We spent a very fun day at This is the Place park. I would definitely recommend a visit to anyone with kids. There are tons of different places they get to visit and they get to do crafts at the different stops. So fun!

Lance at the Indian village where he made an arrowhead necklace.

At the photography studio where they dress in old clothes and get to take pictures. However, unlike Lagoon, it is only $5 for 2 5x7!

Here is the crew of kids we went with. All the kids were different ages, but everyone had so much fun.

Yep, Lance cried when it came time for the pony ride. Oh wait, not when he got on or when he was riding around (he was in absolute Heaven), but when he had to get off, he was bawling. He kept saying "more neighs, more neighs!"

Ah, and the petting zoo. Nothing like man handling a newborn sheep.

Ultimate Bag Lady!

What started as a typical Wednesday night walk turned into me looking like the world's ultimate bag lady!

We went for a walk around our neighborhood and ended up walking up to the Smith's above our house to look at deals on toys for Lance's birthday. Well, my husband being the cereal fanatic he is, freaked when he saw 24oz boxes of cereal, that are regularly priced at $5.50 were on sale for $1.99. He insisted on buying 12 boxes. He said they make great food storage! Well, I am all for a great deal, the only problem being, we only had our jogging stroller, and about a mile and a bit walk down hill!

Well, we managed - of course along the way, we got some very strange stares and even an offer from a couple in our ward to do a drop off at our house! But we managed to get home with all of our cereal and no accidents.

So, I present to you - The Ultimate Bag Lady!!!
