Here she is!

I have had some people ask what kind of camera I got and here she is. I honestly don't know how to use her, but have enjoyed every minute with her so far! She also came with two lenses which I am super excited about. I am usually a canon fan, but so far, the Nikon has been incredible!

Which mom are you?

Take this test!
OK, so maybe you never went straight from a convent to motherhood, but it's a safe bet that you encourage and support your family in much the same way that Maria did. Playful and yes, sometimes a little mischievous, you tend to lead by doing, and you always make sure to help your children achieve their goals without actually doing it for them.

You inspire your family because you always find creative ways to make even the most mundane chores or homework problems seem fun and important. And you want others to try to find the beauty in life — whether it's from art, music, books, or adventure. Those are just a few of your favorite things.

Big fan of the new camera!

Spence got me an amazing camera for my b-day, and we are LOVING it! We went to this cool park by our house and tried out our new lens. It was incredible. Here are some fun pic's we took last night. Oh and Spence buzzed his head - no more curls for now!

A little of this and that - - -

We had a WONDERFUL past week;
My mom came for 5 days which is always a treat - we got a
pedicure, went shopping, she is the best cook in the world so we made tons of delicious food, went swimming and laid out, and she tended Lance two nights so I could go to Spence's business competition, and so we could get out and go to a movie. Loved 21! Thanks Mom! We also had a fun BBQ for me and our friend Tom whose birthday's were this past weekend! Spence starts his finals tonight, so the next couple weeks will be CRAZY! Enjoy the pic's.

Mr. Business Savy Pants!

Spence WON the Thunderbird Entrepreneurship Contest tonight!!!

The contest started over a month ago with 36 entries. Phase 1 consisted of a one page explanation of your business plan. He sailed through that round along with 9 others. Phase 2 was a lot more tricky - it was a 30 page business plan with financial statements, profit projections, market research, etc. Last Friday night we found out he made it to the final round where you present to a panel of successful business executives, CEO's, and investors.

There were 5 other groups and they all did a great job, but Spence nailed it! He was fantastic. I am soooooooo proud of him. I love that whenever he puts his mind to something, he succeeds. He is so talented - what a guy. And a side note - we are a big fan of the monetary prize as well! LOL.

FYI - All the other groups wore business suits, but Spence took a risk and dressed like a farmer to create the setting of his business plan - the judges loved it!

Wonderful Weekend!

We had some of Spence's family come visit us this past weekend:

Mom "mimi," 3 sisters: Kelli, Emily (11), Sophie (4).
Kelli's 3 kids: Lindi (3), Trey (2), and Allie (6 months)

They all stayed at our apartment so you can imagine it was CRAZY and CHAOTIC, but a TON OF FUN!!! The kids were all amazingly well behaved and so gentle and sweet to Lance. It completely exceeded my expectations. Thanks for coming guys! We love you!

This is Lance and Allie. (3 months apart) It is so fun to have a baby the same age as Spence's sister Kelli. We got married about 9 months apart and she already has 3 kiddos, so I know that she was happy we finally had a baby with her the third time round!

Here is the "Alster" is she adorable, or what?!?

Ok, I have to give a little shout out to Emily (11) - she is AMAZING! The whole weekend she did nothing but serve everyone else. She cooked the meals (what - at 11 she was out grilling the meat, sauteeing the veggies, unbelieveable), changed the diapers, played with the babies, and what - NEVER COMPLAINED. She is such an incredible girl. We love you Emily and are so happy she came. She didn't decide to come until 6am the day they were leaving. We are so happy she did.

We went to a Thunderbird Regional Night Friday night. They celebrated Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. We ate awesome food, there were spectacular 'beach theme' decorations and the entertainment was the best yet (of course it was - Spence's band "global sounds" played a slew of fun songs). This is Spence and his darling sista Kelli!
Here is Spence singing in all his glory and his hot orange capris! Gotta love Speenie! The funnest part of the night was that it was Sophie's 4th b-day. We told her the regional night was her gigantic b-day party! So, Spence's band and everyone sang to her. She is on the right. How cute is she - wearing her Sunday best!?!

Here is the gang pigging out on food. It was super yummy!

I love these two girls - Lindi and Sophie - 3 weeks apart. Lindi is Sophie's niece. Yep, Spence has a sister and niece who are three weeks apart. It makes it so much fun!

Gotta love Lance! He had so much fun this night!

Here is Mimi with the kiddos. Lance and Allie sat on Mim's lap the WHOLE hour and a half that Spence's band sang. Neither one of them cried or fussed ONE time. They are both such good kids. They LOVED the music! Maybe we have another future musician on our hands? Big fan of that!

In case you are wondering - here are the songs Spence sang at the Regional Night. I will try to post some clips if I can figure out how to do that.

ACDC "All Night Long" * Scorpions "Rock you like a hurricane" * Bon Jovi "Livin on a Prayer" * Michael Jackson "Billie Jean" * "La Bamba" * "500 Miles"... Everyone liked their band so much, they have asked them to play at the graduation gala at the Four Seasons Hotel - Kudos Global Sounds!

Ok - I guess that is a long enough post for now!

The big guy is 9 months!

We went in for Lance's 9 month appointment today. I can't believe I have a 9 month old baby! He is the cutest thing in the world and the JOY of our life. His personality has really started to come out a lot more the last month, and it has been so much fun. He is doing GREAT!

The Stats:
Weight - 18.8 lbs - 25%
Height - 28 1/2 inches - 60%
Head - 45cm - 50%

HE'S THE MAN - - - SERIOUSLY, WE JUST LOVE HIM TO PIECES!

Mr. Happy Pants!

My friend Joy came and took some pictures of Lance. In a previous post, I mentioned how Lance WOULD NOT SMILE ONE time the whole hour Joy was there. I was pretty bummed, but she does such a fantastic job, that I even LOVE the serious ones!

So, before I post his pictures, I have to preface them with a funny story that happened today. Spence and I were at Costco. Spence was holding Lance and he looked over his shoulder and there was an older woman playing with Lance and he was laughing so hard at her. She said "Wow, he is so outgoing. His personality is so much fun! Is he always like this?!" Spencer was like, "Um, well he is a happy kid, but he usually isn't this excited to see someone he doesn't know!" Ok, well that made me happy. So, he can be outgoing around people he doesn't know that well; I guess the catch 22, is WHEN he WANTS to be.

Here are some of our favorites. Thanks again Joy, you are fantastic!

Which do you like best - B&W or Color?

Looking for something fun to do?!?

Our friend Dale just emailed me these pic's, and they made me remember how much fun we had that day, so I thought I would post them. BIG FAN OF THE PYRAMIDS!!!
