Tomatoes Anyone?

So with the birth of Tallie, we kind of forgot about our garden until my dad went and looked at it and came inside and said that we had a bunch of tomatoes in our garden still. We had no idea how it avoided getting frozen, but nonetheless, our tomatoes were still thriving!

Because we knew the storm was on it's way in, we decided to pick all of of our tomatoes and hope they ripen off the vine.

Here is the end product!!! Can you believe it? We still have two boxes of tomatoes and it is almost November! Anyone want any tomatoes, just let me know, I think we can spare a few...

This is not even including the huge bag of tomatoes we gave our neighbors!

I am thinking next year, we may plant some other things besides 16 tomato plants!

I'm so jealous!! I would give just about anything for fresh garden tomatoes right now...

Holy cow!!!! You could make fried green tomatoes with the unripened ones. I discovered I like them.

Yummy! I love tomatoes out of the garden. You can taste the difference.

Wow! Are you going to can them? We had 2 plants and that was way too many for us to, but not enough to can. Gardens are so fun and fresh tomatoes are the best.

That's amazing. I agree with Erica. Fried green tomatoes are big here. We're waiting for ours to grow still. Wish us luck!

Hey Kates,

Sorry I haven't called you back yet! Lets just say we have and some illness at my house. Tate got sick monday night, then I caught it tuesday. No one else is sick though. I am starting to feel better, at least no more throwing up. Tate is a day ahead of me in this so he is playing fine now. Yuck. Maybe Swine flu?? Let me know if you go friday am. I have a packed day with Halloween parades, etc. then a party at night. I might hold out for the Dr's office shots. Miss you! PS...Nice shrine to Sally's Clippies-lol! Tallie is so beautiful. I hope you are doing well.
