So my plan was to update the blog daily with our Florida trip, but unfortunately my basement decided to do a little of this! Definitely not one of the pluses of home ownership, but all I can say is that I am SO GRATEFUL that it didn't happen while we were in Florida. So enough about the flood... onto the trip!
(To clarify, this picture was taken off the internet to illustrate my point of a flooding basement, our flood was not even 1/8 this bad - luckily!)
Wednesday was definitely the Marathon day. It went a little something like this...
I started off the morning with some R&R -
While the boys and Kristin hit up the outside beach gym for a little of this -
Later on that evening we headed out to Shark Stadium to see the Florida Marlins take on the Atlanta Braves! (Thanks to Kristin's mission buddy, we got free tickets, woo-woo!)
I was super excited to go to a professional baseball game; the lights, the crowds, the enthusiasm, and especially the Chicago Dogs... Plus, Dave and Kristin had never been to a pro baseball game, so I got them super excited. Ok, talk about the biggest let down of the trip. What the crap? There were NO fans there. I tried to post a picture that showed how completely EMPTY the stadium was. I bet the fans wouldn't even fill up 1/3 of the Buzz stadium. It was so pathetic. And do you know what was even more pathetic? The Marlins are good! They have only been around since 1993, and have won the World Series 2x (1997 and 2003). So, why there were no fans, will remain a mystery to me. Plus, they had NO Chicago Dogs, and were "sold out" of regular hot dogs. Weird?
But that bummer didn't get us down - because after the baseball game headed to our next activity - SaLsA DaNcInG!!! I know, an 8 month pregnant woman salsa dancing, yes it was a sight to be seen!
We definitely couldn't bust out the moves like Dave and Kristin...
But we (or should I say I) gave it a good if not awkward try at times!
Now if that wasn't enough- after dancing, we headed over to a Karaoke Bar for some pool and karaoke...
Dave and Kristin busting out Shaggy's "Angel." Dave seriously sounded better than Shaggy, it was awesome. Spence also busted out "Joy to the World!"
And then finally heading home, but not before posing for a picture with our favorite grocery store...
I mean really, WHO NAMES THEIR GROCERY STORE THIS???
I am going to skip Thursday for now, and go to Friday. We basically hung out on the beach all morning, and then took Dave and Kristin to the airport. Afterwards, Spence and I were able to hit up a movie (a luxury when you have kids) and shopped around for some fun stuff.
This hands down has got to be the picture of the trip. Spence HATES sand. And with that, I mean, he likes the beach, he just hates sand anywhere on his towel, his body, his stuff, etc. I know, what the heck? Super annoying, I mean, we are at the BEACH!!! So, Friday he just runs and dives in the sand, starts rolling around, creating sand angels, it was so funny. Yay to Spence for actually getting sand all over him at the beach!
Thanks to Dave and Kristin for making the trip so much fun. I don't think there was a day that went by where we weren't crying from laughing so hard, loved it! By the end of Friday, I was kind of freaking out that my water was going to break from lack of taking it easy and we would be stuck in Florida for 6 weeks, but luckily we made it back in one piece!
