Am I the only irritated one out here?

****Note: Aunt Flo has not visited me for two years to be exact on October 27, 2008 - she is due back for a visit in the next few days, so I feel my hormones and emotions stirring up like crazy. Thus, the need for a little venting here!*****

Ok folks, so the debate last night, was it not pathetic? I don't think either of these candidates are qualified to be president at this time of National Crisis and the Economic cancer we are facing. They both talk about the same old things, and it drives me crazy. Yes, I agree we need change, but not the way that Obama sees it. For example, I am freaking out as I see the savings Speen and I have saved over the past 5 years dimish in almost half. Obama wants to raise taxes and I think it is ridiculous that he should want to raise taxes at a time like this. Well, think for a minute about the people who are wanting to retire and half their retirement has diminished in the last three months. So, they decide they can't retire now, so they decide they will work 5 more years. Well, with Obama in office, they now have to work more years to regain their retirment loss but then even more of their money gets taken away in taxes. So now they have a two edge sword going against them - their money sinking with the economy and the increase of taxes they have to pay. Is it fair that the hardworking people in America have to give up more money? I think not.

What is this picture of you ask? This beautiful resort where people like Julia Roberts go to hang out? Well, this is what we - the American people - are paying for. We are paying for wall street crooks to go an enjoy themselves in beautiful posh resorts with our tax dollars. Who, you ask?

AIG took their company executives on a $440,000 posh retreat DAYS after they got an $85 BILLION dollar loan from the government. And in order to pay for this retreat they had to tap into that government loan. They spent the money the following ways:
Over $200,000 in rooms (yep, they cost over $1,000 per night!)
$150,000 in food and banquets
$25,000 on bar expenses
$23,000 spa treatments
$15,000 at the salon - getting manis and pedis

. Are you kidding me? The only way I see the dow rebounding is if we put these crooks into jail. INTO JAIL I SAY!!!

Which bring me to my latest point - the solution. I think that we need a real "maverick" on the economy as President. So, my opinion is that Mitt Romney needs to pull a Joe Lieberman this election.

Joe Lieberman lost his run for re-election as a democratic senator in the 2006 democratic primaries. So what he decided to do was run as a third party "independent" for the election, and WON!!! So, I say Mitt Romney steps in as the independent party since the real issue 99% of Americans really care about is the Economy and let's get someone in there that actually knows a thing or two about it and can help fix our crisis. GO ROMNEY!!!

Katie, it sounds like you should be running for Pres. We need somebody to put people in their place and get things done. Maybe a tiny and feisty gal would be just the person!

Isn't it ironic that these two men keep arguing about who has "experience" when really a normal person like us sees the real pictures so much better? I am so tired of the blame game, the dodging questions, etc. You know, stop campaigning, use those millions to fight hunger, put it into the dieing stock market or something--show us that you care about the American people--not just yourself and your title. Aunt Flo or not, you are right--the debate was pathetic and neither of these men should be President of the United States. :)

Katie, I agree the debate was terrible. If you want a change honestly look up Ron Paul listen to a few things he says seriously research him for maybe a half hour and if you don't like it you can forget about him. But he is the one that is speaking of real change. Obama and McCain are so closely related it is terrible. I know he is not in the running for president but there is always next time. He has been predicting this crisis for over 20 years not like Obama or McCain's 2 years they claim is so heroic. Oh and there is a sidenote to since they passed the bailout inflation will drop what is left of your saving even more. People don't get it! We are just getting lied to by the government. We don't have the money. We should not be spending it when there is no way to pay it back. What is sad is this is just going to hit our children harder later on. Watch Ron Paul. He will give you some hope. You know maybe aunt Flo is going to visit me to? Sorry this is so long but you know how I feel about all this crap that is going on. :)

You crack me up ya know! I agree with you 100% when you say neither candidate is qualified to be our president. I am having a really hard time wanting to vote cause honestly I don't agree with either and know they will both come with their own share of really terrible things. They both scare the crap out of me!
I get all fired up when I watch these debates and read the news. Believe me!

Hi Katie,

Was it you who asked me about the butcher paper? I didn't recognize the username... Global Rock Set? If it was you, yes, I'll pick you up some paper but I'm going out of town for a week so it won't be for a little while. :)

def. not the only irriated one. Balieve me. I stay up nursing henry and catch up via YOUTUBE on the debates and find myself either on the verge of tears, or on the verge of pulling my hair out and throwing it at the moniter because neither candidate to me, seems to have it together. I flip flop like a dead fish- sometimes I quasi agree with OBama, sometimes with McCain, but I might just be voting independently this election and do a write-in. I think these candidates need to start outlining their SPECIFIC plans instead of saying, 'Well, I voted this in the senate, I'm more experienced, blah blah blah"... I wanna hear DETAILS and PLANS and GOALS-- not arguing over who is cooler. Bah. SEe?? Don't get me started on this because I end up just as irritated. Maybe Spence should run for pres, kate.

I agree the debate was not the best, however I will be the one to speak up and say Barack won my vote a very long time ago.

Regardless of who is elected for president there is a lot of cleaning up to do and it will not be quick or painless for any of us.

Katie...I completely agree. I keep wishing their was a viable 3rd option. With only a couple weeks left I'm very frustrated.

AMEN! I can't stand that in a country as powerful as ours these are the two best losers we can come up with to be our president! Romney really should jump in at the end.
